So my book came out in the UK last week. Kinda. I hear that the big book shop in Belfast, Waterstone’s, don’t have it on their shelves because it has not be shipped from their distribution centre yet. Apparently the other big store Eason’s are not planning on stocking it unless people want to buy it. How people can buy it if they don’t stock it in the first place is beyond me, but I’m a first-time author so what do I know about the literary / book world. Very little.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that we had a great show on the BBC website today which I am chuffed / made up / over the moon about. I’m sure there are lots of people who hate the BBC but it’s still one of the most-visited websites in the world and has a prestigious ring to it. If you want to then read the story here:

and while you are at it, you may also want to read the piece on the Chelsea website which I was equally thrilled with:

For the next few weeks I am going to try and drum up some UK press interest ahead of my trip home in November. It will be my first time home in a year-and-a-half, and I think it may be two-and-a-half years since I was in England. God, I’m getting old, time flying by, blah, blah, blah…

And as well as this I want to cram in a weekend visit to Boston to do some book stuff before Christmas. I hear there are a few Irish up there. So more nights on the computer in my future. But that’s good – stops me worrying about turning 40 soon…
