One out of two ain’t bad I suppose.

I had a good football week last week. First of all, Finn McCool’s won a league game for the first time this season (admittedly we had only played two), but I scored a goal! It is the first goal I have scored in Division One for eight years! Ha, ha ha!

Since 2008 I’ve played in Division Two, until finally last season we got promoted to the top league (against our will by the way). Last season I didn’t score, but I’m off the mark now. We won the match 3-1 as well.

Then a piece I sent to the football / soccer website thesetpieces.com got published. It was a story about a trip inside the Arctic Circle to watch Chelsea play a Norwegian club called Tromso. The Scandinavians posted it on their official Facebook page, but, even  better, it was picked up by my favourite site football365.com. They posted a link to it in their Recommended Reading of the Day when they pick three stories to highlight. So of all the football writing on the internet that day, they reckoned mine was worth reading.

So allow me to bask in these two  glories for a few days anyway. At my age these sort of things don’t come around too often. Anyway, here’s the link to the piece if you are interested in reading it:
